The Baltimore Community Foundation’s February 20, 2025 announcement of the launch of the Key Bridge Small Business Direct Grant Program, which featured AAEDC’s involvement, was widely covered by regional media including:
The Daily Record
The Business Monthly
The Baltimore Business Journal
WMAR (ABC-Baltimore)
Baltimore Fishbowl
Small Business Trends
The Baltimore Sun
The Dundalk Eagle
Coverage reported that the initiative offered $10,000 to $50,000 grants to small businesses that were severely impacted by the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, and that AAEDC, Baltimore Community Lending, and the Latino Economic Development Center would be accepting applications from affected businesses in Northern Anne Arundel County through March 20, 2025.
The release included the following commentary from AAEDC President and CEO Amy Gowan:
“After the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, we were proud to serve as the lead agency to support business relief in Anne Arundel County. Administering this grant on behalf of BCF is a natural extension of that mission, providing businesses with the support they need to regain stability, explore new opportunities, and build a resilient future.”
