Workforce Training
In this increasingly competitive job market, the ability to recruit and retain the right workforce is foremost in the minds of most employers.  As a result, AAEDC and the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) have joined forces to promote the link between workforce and economic development initiatives.  We believe that a skilled workforce is our greatest asset.

With our Business Outreach Program, we jointly meet with Anne Arundel County employers to identify critical workforce development issues that we can assist with, including, but not limited to:

Recruitment: We work with our regional and state partners to address industry-specific recruitment needs and find solutions to our employers' most pressing problems.  AAWDC offers recruitment fairs, pre-screening assistance and job placement services.

Retention: Identifying and addressing critical retention issues can be a frustrating issue facing employers. AAWDC and our state partners at the State of Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) can identify solutions.

Training: Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation can assist new and existing businesses with workforce training.  Through the AAEDC Workforce Training Partnership, eligible companies can gain the critical skills upgrades or technical training for employees that will improve overall productivity and competitiveness.  An established and successful relationship with Anne Arundel Community College and the Center for Workforce Solutions as well as other training providers, helps AAEDC accomplish this training. Training can occur at the workplace, or the Anne Arundel Community College campus in Arnold, or at specialized labs at Arundel Mills and the Glen Burnie Town Center.
