As an added value, a real estate continuing education class entitled Theory, Practice, & Application of Mixed Use Zoning was offered to real estate professionals and attendees prior to the tour. Carole Sanner, Deputy Director of the Anne Arundel County Department of Planning and Zoning, Brian Gibbons, Chairman and CEO of Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corporation, Neil Greenberg, COO of Somerset Construction Company, and George Carras, Principal of StonebridgeCarras, LLC described to 31 attendees how they transformed the County’s new Mixed-Use Zones into vibrant real estate developments.
Since its inception in 1992, over 1,800 professionals have participated in the VIP Tour, organized on behalf of Anne Arundel County by the AAEDC. The AAEDC mission is to serve business needs and increase the county’s economic base through job growth and investment.
Robert Hannon, President and CEO of the AAEDC, said, “The annual VIP Tour is a compact look at business investment in Anne Arundel County. With the 2011 completion of BRAC and move-in of all DOD agencies, this year’s tour will bring participants into visual contact with large scale, “place making” real estate developments. The combination of BRAC and these developments is transforming West Anne Arundel County.”
