Over 37% Of Total Jobs Created Located in Anne Arundel
Annapolis (January 31, 2005) - According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) report, Anne Arundel County accounted for more than one third of the new jobs created in the State of Maryland between June of 2003 and June of 2004.
The report indicated that 37.7% of all new State jobs were located in Anne Arundel.
"One of my key goals is, and will continue to be, expanding the economic base of our County," said Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens. "We have aggressively marketed our Gold Coast along the BWI corridor and it is paying off in jobs. These jobs are high paying technology positions that used to be located outside of our County."
The QCEW report shows that 7,681 of the 20,347 overall jobs created in the State came in the County.
