Annapolis, MD (June 3, 2005) - - - Four new companies have joined the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), Anne Arundel County's business incubator that focuses on Homeland Security. The addition of these businesses brings the total to 16 member companies that reside within the CIC.
One company is run by a well-known retired Navy SEAL; another company is managed by a seasoned British CEO. One focuses on building the intellectual capabilities of essential government personnel; another company offers sophisticated visualization technology.
"Anne Arundel County is a magnet for defense related companies because of its skilled work force and proximity to Washington, D.C.," said Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens. "The CIC plays a vital role in nurturing cutting edge technology start-ups."
