Annapolis, MD (February 24, 2005) - - - The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) has appointed Christina Wiegand as Senior Vice President following the departure of Robert McGlotten Jr. to Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation.  Additionally, AAEDC has promoted Sarah Boone to Vice President of Business Development.  Ms. Wiegand's position is effective March 21; Ms. Boone's promotion took effect February 9.  
 
As Senior Vice President, Ms. Wiegand's primary responsibility will be to attract and encourage the location and expansion of businesses into Anne Arundel County.  As Vice President of Business Development, Ms. Boone will focus on helping businesses with their location, expansion, or relocation needs and acting as the liaison between companies, the permitting process, and the planning and zoning process.

For the last 10 years, Ms. Wiegand has worked in economic development, most recently as the Director of Business Development with the Baltimore Development Corporation. Prior to that she was the Corporate Locations Manager and Senior Marketing Manager with the Greater Baltimore Alliance.  She is an active member of the Maryland Economic Development Association, the International Economic Development Council, the Urban Land Institute, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.  She earned a bachelors degree from Canisius College in Political Science and Psychology and a Master of Urban Planning degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning.  Ms. Wiegand resides in Pasadena.
 
Ms. Boone has over 18 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and is a certified real estate broker.  For over ten years she has served as the Business Location Consultant for AAEDC helping companies grow their business in Anne Arundel County.  She also manages the corporation's two real estate events -- the VIP Tour of the county and the AAEDC Golf Tournament.  Prior to her position at AAEDC, Ms. Boone was a principal of The Boone Mitchell Brokerage Firm in Annapolis.  She is a member of the Maryland Economic Development Association, the Anne Arundel Commercial and Industrial Association, and volunteers her time for the Friends Foundation.  Ms. Boone attended Sullins College in Bristol, VA.  She resides in Annapolis.
