ULTRAVISION JOINS CHESAPEAKE INNOVATION CENTER

ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 20, 2007) - - -  UltraVision Security Systems, Inc. has become an Affiliate Member Company of the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), Anne Arundel County’s business accelerator for homeland and national security.  UltraVision (www.ultravisionsecurity.com) produces ultra wideband and microwave motion detection sensors for life-safety and security applications.

“I welcome UltraVision to Anne Arundel County and to the Chesapeake Innovation Center,” said Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold.  “UltraVision’s relocation highlights Anne Arundel County’s appeal to entrepreneurs who specialize in defense and homeland security.”

UltraVision President Dennis Johnson recently relocated from New Hampshire to Annapolis in order to grow his business in proximity to potential homeland security customers in the Washington, DC/Baltimore region.  As a CIC Affiliate Member, UltraVision will receive advanced education on marketing to the homeland security and government sector, access to customers to advance commercialization and business success, recommendations for future product development, and collaboration on marketing and communications initiatives.

“Our proven technologies are a good match for defense industry customers,” said
Mr. Johnson.  “The CIC has expertise and relationships in homeland security and government contracting which will help us better understand this nuanced market and develop our business with greater efficiency.”

UltraVision has developed three products with the ability to “see” through materials and barriers to detect motion.  UltraSensor™ is a motion detector that can be completely buried to provide high security and low false alarms for building and facility exterior security.  An award winning product, UltraSensor won both the IFSEC Security Industry Innovation Award for “Best New Intruder Alarm Product” this year in England, and the 2006 SIA Award for New Product Achievement, Intrusion.  LifeLocator® is a search system that can locate trapped, living victims of building collapse by detecting fractions of motion, even extremely shallow breathing.  UltraVision currently has customers for these two products in 12 countries.

UltraVision’s MicroDetector™ is a portable, hockey-puck sized motion sensor for use by law enforcement and military personnel.  MicroDetector is in the pilot evaluation phase of development.

“UltraVision’s products have the promise of responding to the specific needs of CIC partners and their customers for solutions to pressing technology needs,” said Robert Hannon, President and CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation.  “The strength of the CIC is in connecting major users of homeland security technology with well-suited technology innovators and, at the same time, stimulating local economic development.”
