CHESAPEAKE INNOVATION CENTER LAUNCHES CEO ROUNDTABLE
FifteenTechnology Leaders Attend First Session

ANNAPOLIS, MD (June 3, 2009) - - -  The Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC) announces the launch of regular Business-to-Government (B2G) CEO Roundtables to benefit its member companies.  The monthly, early morning two-hour sessions provide an opportunity for technology companies to meet experts while connecting to a close group of peers.  Experts come from a variety of fields, each providing tactics for doing business with the government.

“The CIC is recognized as a central hub for technology companies interested in connecting their innovation to Homeland Security and Intelligence Community needs,” said Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold.  “I am pleased to see the CEO Roundtable program in place.”

Fifteen technology leaders attended the first CEO Roundtable (Tuesday, June 02, 2009) which featured Dr. Ellen Domb, founding editor of The TRIZ Journal (www.triz-journal.com) and principal consultant for the PQR Group in California.  Dr. Domb has been a physics professor, an aerospace engineer, an engineering manager, a product line general manager, and a strategic planning/quality improvement consultant.  Her presentation focused on the TRIZ innovation system used to solve problems that entrepreneurs encounter when turning a creative idea into business success.  Attendees discussed their most daunting challenges, learned how to use the TRIZ method to solve them, and had the opportunity to brainstorm with peers.  Next session will be held in July.

“The goal of this session is to create an exclusive forum where like-minded entrepreneurs can connect, learn from experts and each other, and discuss issues that affect their companies today” said Sarah Djamshidi, CIC Executive Director.  “I knew the first CEO Roundtable was successful when one of our attending tech companies said “Yes, that sounds like the perfect solution” in answer to a suggestion from our speaker and other CEOs,” said Ms. Djamshidi.  “The CIC always strives to provide support where innovations can thrive. This program is one of the many services that CIC member companies receive.”  Roundtable attendance is limited to CIC member companies and a small group of invited outside firms.  Companies interested in receiving an invitation to participate in the B2G CEO Roundtable should contact Dawn Merson, CIC Executive Assistant, at dmerson@cic-tech.org.
