AAEDC WINS MARCOM AWARD FOR ODENTON TOWN CENTER VIDEO

ANNAPOLIS, MD (November 4, 2010) - - - Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) received a Gold MARCOM Award for the video Odenton Town Center – Intersecting with Opportunity.  The international award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

“This video provides an overview of what Odenton Town Center will look like when completed said Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold.  “With funding mechanisms in place to complete the $30 million of infrastructure improvements needed for development of Odenton Town Center, I commend AAEDC and their partners on this much deserved award and their continued efforts to bring Odenton Town Center toward completion.”

Odenton Town Center – Intersecting with Opportunity was created to help potential businesses visualize the planned development for this strategically located, 1,600 acre town center.  The video shows Odenton’s proximity to both Washington, DC and Baltimore – the nation’s fourth largest market place.  It also highlights Odenton Town Center’s prime location in the heart of the Fort Meade region - an area experiencing rapid residential and business growth.

Fort Meade, America’s leading center for information tech, cyber security and signals intelligence, is shown adjacent to Odenton Town Center.  Animation and generic models showing height and density allows the viewer to experience the town center at full build out.  With a variety of mixed-use developments in progress, Odenton Town Center will provide housing, business services, office space, and retail to meet the needs of the greater Fort Meade area.

The video, produced by Niles Bolton Architects www.nilesbolton.com was initially screened before 100 commercial brokers, developers and real estate professionals during the Annual Anne Arundel County VIP Real Estate Tour in April of 2010.  A DVD version has been provided to additional real estate professionals as well as key elected officials, and business organizations.  The video can be viewed on the AAEDC web site, www.aaedc.org.

“Viewers see the future Odenton Town Center from above and through animation they “drive” along the main streets,” said Alexis Henderson, VP Marketing and Communications for Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation.  “This video is a great marketing tool for business attraction where a picture really is worth a thousand words.”

A partnership with the West County Chamber of Commerce, the Odenton Now Coalition, Anne Arundel County Office of Planning and Zoning, Anne Arundel County Community Television, A.J. Properties, Inc., Stonebridge Carras, Elm Street Development and Reliable Contracting made the production of this video possible.
