Anne Arundel County’s economy is one of the strongest in Maryland, consistently producing one of the lowest unemployment rates in the State.  The County has a dynamic and diverse business base ranging from high technology companies and wholesale distributors, to the Federal Government. This diverse mix supports some 222,000 employees in 14,000 businesses. Major employers include the National Security Agency, ARINC, Computer Sciences Corporation, United States Naval Academy, and the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.
